Hey everyone, Bryan Cannon here.

I wanted to take a moment to share an update on the Kid Kuma release.

This story has been with me since 2023, something that’s lived in my head and truthfully, in my heart ever since we first created the character. What started as a simple idea has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined. We’re a two-man team at Tokuma Studio, myself handling the writing and editing, and Raoni Vidal leading the art, colors, and lettering.

This is our first real run as creative partners, and we’ve put everything we’ve got into this book. Every ounce of our focus, every bit of our creative energy—it’s all going into Kid Kuma.

"What is new with Tokuma Studio?"

Back in 2025, we were fortunate enough to secure private funding for our first print run. That milestone made this all feel real in a whole new way. We’ve got five variant covers planned, including artwork from our lead artist Raoni Vidal and some feature artist like SMIL. Each one bringing its own unique energy to the book. We also have plans for our Kickstarter friends with exclusive variants availabe only on Kickstarter.

We planned for an April release, but right now, we’re deep in the process of refining panels, dialing in the tone, and making sure every moment lands exactly the way it should. I’m not interested in rushing this. The goal isn’t just to release a comic, it’s to create something that stays with you. Something you’ll want to come back to.

We’re getting close. And when it’s ready, I promise it’ll be worth the wait. Stay tuned for more info as we grow this world. And journey on this adventure with us.
